I have been writing in a journal on an almost-daily basis since I was 17 years old. This is a record of me going through each entry from the beginning, and commenting on the me from fifteen years ago.

Found out that people you like are always that way. It doesn’t matter where they are, what they look like, what state they’re in or what they’ve done or do. All that matters is what you think of all those above things and how you react. Cool people are cool, no matter what and fun is fun, no matter who it’s with.

My nephews, who are currently 5 and 7, have helped me to understand that your personality is set pretty early in life. They’re so young, but already you can see the people they are and what they’ll be like later on (thankfully, they won’t be assholes). I think too many of us battle ourselves, hoping to not be like who we are. It all seems pointless, doesn’t it?
