I have been writing in a journal on an almost-daily basis since I was 17 years old. This is a record of me going through each entry from the beginning, and commenting on the me from fifteen years ago.

If you cry tonight, Let me be the one To dry your eyes. I won’t have you sad For me to see, Nor anyone else to know. Give you my embrace, If nothing more, It’s all I own. When I’m away, When you cry, Please don’t despair. You know I’m coming home, to give you all I own. If I should be gone, no longer to return, there’s no need for tears. I’m still with you like no other, or ever will. You don’t have to cry, If I can’t dry your eyes. You’re the only one I’ve ever loved, I promise the world. With love, I live within you, As forever your heart beats.

I’m happy to report that eventually college both improved my poetry and the subject matter that I chose to write about. I don’t think I have any of the good ones in this journal since they were all for class assignments, so you’ll have to take my word for it.
