I have been writing in a journal on an almost-daily basis since I was 17 years old. This is a record of me going through each entry from the beginning, and commenting on the me from fifteen years ago.

I think a lot of people don’t realize that life is fun. Maybe they spend their whole lives toiling, complaining, worrying. Why? They spend too much time trying to do what society wants them to. Remember, when it comes to being happy - watch out for numero uno. If numero doce & trace get in the way, that’s great, but just be happy and don’t step down for anyone. Takes some people a long time to realize this after childhood, some never know. Being happy is what it’s all about. If it weren’t, why would being happy make you feel so good?

So true. There’s really no reason not to be having fun pretty much all the time. Unless you’re in jail. That sucks - but it’s fun when you get out!
